Thelma Jean Place

Thelma Jean Place, 85, passed away October 13, 2014. A funeral mass will be held 1:00PM on Friday, October 17, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Allan McDonald officiating. A reception will follow from 5:00-7:00PM at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, Georgia 31210 or The Arc of Macon, 4664 Sheraton Drive, Macon, Georgia 31210. Mrs. Place was a board member of Macon Civic Chorale where they performed in New York, Germany, London, and Mâcon, France. She was also a past president of Toastmasters International and member of Career Women's Network. She was a retired realtor and associate broker where she was lifetime member of the Million Dollar Club. Also a past president of Greater Macon area Women's Council of Realtors and a member of Macon Symphony Guild and Middle Georgia Opera Guild. Mrs. Place was survived by her son, Charles Bernard Place III (Debbie) of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; daughter, Debbie Schuchmann (Greg) of Macon; son, Robert Place (Lisa) of Arvada, Colorado; four grandchildren, Charles Bernard Place IV (Heather), Morgan Reid Place, Aubrey Place, and Evan Place; and a niece, Helen Lee Glidden.
