Thelma Dean Brown

June 7, 1926 — May 12, 2026

Macon

Thelma Brown passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026, in Macon, Georgia, at the age of 99, just weeks before her 100th birthday. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Riverside Cemetery.

Thelma was born in Winnsboro, Louisiana on June 7, 1926, to the late James Herman and Vera Brownell. She was a wonderful mother and her children’s best friend. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Sharon Twibell of Macon; good friend, Charlie Jay of Macon; and her caregivers, Martha Sapp and Audrey Thomas.

In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Rowland Brown; and her daughter, Debbie Dee Brown. Her husband was an attorney for Standard Oil of California, and they eventually lived in San Francisco, California. Twenty years ago they moved to Macon to be near their daughter.

Many thanks to Family Hospice and her wonderful nurse, D’Ree Kitchens.

During this hour of sorrow and pain, let the touch of the Master restore me again. Entrusting my heart to his healing embrace, He will carry me through every trial I face.

My loved one now rests in the palms of God’s hands free from life’s cares and its many demands. The memories I carry will always remain, til God reunites me with your beautiful soul in Heaven again!
