Teresa Faye Wilcox

Teresa Faye Wilcox, 76, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. The family will greet friends for visitation on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, in the Chapel of Hart’s Mortuary, 765 Cherry Street, Macon, Georgia.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to All About Animals, P.O. Box 4331, Macon, Georgia 31208.

Teresa was born on January 26, 1949, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Paul and Mary Monsees Hendrix.  She loved to read, and her favorite book was Gone with the Wind. Teresa loved gardening, was an excellent seamstress, and an avid dog lover. She was a huge fan of Auburn University which she supported by helping both her sons and their wives become alumni.

Teresa began her education later in life at Mercer University where she graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.  She later earned her master’s degree in education from Georgia College and State University.  She worked for the Bibb County Board of Education and ended her work career at the Georgia Academy for the Blind.

Teresa is survived by her sons, Howard “Tripp” Wilcox III (Virginia) of Macon, and Jason “Doc” Wilcox, Sr. (Amanda) of Auburn, Alabama; and her grandchildren, Georgia Wilcox, Teresa Wilcox, Charlotte Wilcox, Jason Wilcox, Jr., Samuel Wilcox, and Amelia Wilcox.
