Sylvia L. Davis, 79, of Gray, passed away Monday, October 25, 2021, due to a lengthy 16-year battle with Alzheimer’s. A private graveside service will be held at Cedar Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 886 Mulberry St., Macon, GA 31201.
Daughter of the late Julian and Cherry Buff Liles, Sylvia loved the outdoors, raising flowers from seeds and planting them in her meticulous, well-kept yard. She loved playing golf, cooking, traveling, and water skiing at Lake Sinclair. Spending time at Lake Sinclair and the beach was her favorite. She also loved sewing anything from clothes to home décor. As a teenager, she enjoyed dancing to the 50’s music. As an adult, she enjoyed line dancing to country music. Most importantly, she loved her family and being a “Mimi” to her grandchildren.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Walter “W.L.” Lanoid Davis.
Sylvia is survived by daughter, Tina Comer of Milledgeville; grandchildren, Jamie Ferrell (Aaron) of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Jessica Dykes (Devon) of Gray; great grandchildren, John William Dykes, Chase Dykes, Abigail Ferrell, and Ansley Ferrell; sister, Susan (T.D.) Brantley of Gray; and brother, Julian Liles of Macon.
