Suzann Newberry Whitaker

Suzann Newberry Whitaker, 68, passed away Monday, September 19, 2016. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road with Dr. Jimmy Asbell, Jr. officiating. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arthritis Foundation, PO Box 96280, Washington, DC 20077-7491. Mrs. Whitaker was a graduate of Stratford Academy and Wesleyan College. She was a member of Vineville United Methodist Church. She retired from the Department of Family and Children's Services (DFACS). Mrs. Whitaker was predeceased by her Cocker Spaniels, Bailey and Dodger. Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Bruce Whitaker of Macon; three children, Bobby Whitaker (Claire) of Macon, Andy Whitaker (Irene) of Macon, and Julie Whitaker Summer (Chad) of Newnan; three grandchildren, Andrew Whitaker of Macon, William Whitaker of Macon, and Carrabelle Riley Summer of Newnan.
