Macon-Susie Childree Crook, 93, died Thursday, April 8, 2010 at her residence following a brief illness. Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, April 12, 2010 at Andersonville National Cemetery with Dr. Bill Hardee officiating. Visitation will be held between 5:00-7:00PM at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, on Sunday, April 11, 2010. Family may be contacted at the home of Max and Susan Crook. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vineville Baptist Church, 2591 Vineville Avenue, Macon, GA 31204, or to the donor's favorite charity. Mrs. Crook was a member of Vineville Baptist Church and the Friendship Sunday School class. She was born in Taylor County, lived in Middle Georgia the majority of her life and was a resident of Macon for the last 32 years. She was the widow of Ellis Nelson Crook and was predeceased by her parents, William Jennings Childree and Jeffie Windham Childree; brothers, Edward Childree, Hugh Childree, Cecil Childree and Quinton Childree. Survivors include her son, Max (Susan) Crook of Macon; daughter, Cherry Young of Macon; five grandchildren, Melisa (Bob) White of Macon, John (Terri) Crook of Macon, Andy (Amy) Crook of Perry, Jenny (Danny) Willis of Macon, and Amy Young of Macon; seven great grandchildren; and seven sisters, Vetra Brown of Oglethorpe, Lois Townsend of Warner Robins, Leila Dent (B.R.) of Reynolds, Catherine Pye (Harmon) of Macon, Louise Creecy (Johnny) of Jonesboro, Earline Poole of Marietta, and Verna Taunton (Tom) of Butler.
