Gray

Steven Eugene “Pud” Perdue, 67, of Gray, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Pine Pointe Hospice Facility in Macon, Georgia. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday April 12, 2026, at 4:00 PM, at Hart’s Jones County Chapel. His family will host a time for visitation one hour prior to the service in the same location. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations in his honor be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Born August 6, 1958, in Macon, to the late Grace and Charles Perdue, “Pud” built a life centered in faith, family, and fortitude. He graduated from Northeast Highschool, class of 1976. A few years later, on June 22, 1980, he married the love of his life, Sally Henderson Perdue. The two were blessed with 45 years of joyous marriage and enjoyed building a family that became the center of Steven’s world. Steven’s greatest joy in life was his family—especially his children and grandchildren.

Steven was passionate about those which he loved. A faithful servant of Christ, he always strived to live in His image and grow as a Christian. He enjoyed his career as a salesman with Rush Truck Leasing, proudly retiring in 2021. As dedicated runner, he competed in more than 50 marathons, twice qualifying for the Boston Marathon! “Pud” also had a deep love for the Georgia Bulldogs, never missing a game and often teaching the next generation how to call their Dawgs. Known for his quick wit and humor, he was always ready with a joke, often beginning with his favorite, “two flies sitting on...”. His love, laughter, and unwavering presence will live on in all who knew and loved him.

Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Grace and Charles Perdue. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sally; his children, Jared (Jacey) Perdue, Jessica (Jantz) Graham, and Josh Perdue; and his cherished grandchildren, Millie and Quinn Graham; Harris, Owen and Hayes Perdue. He is also survived by his siblings, Chuck (Cathy) Perdue, Stephanie Marks, Tim Perdue, and Daryl Perdue.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.” — Hebrews 12:1
