Steve J. Connelly

Steve J. Connelly, 75, of Dublin, GA, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2022.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Hart’s Cherry Street Chapel with the Reverend John Haney officiating.  The family will greet friends Friday, August 5, 2022, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Hart’s on Cherry Street.  Burial will be held at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens following the service.

Son of the late Cecil and Sallie McBryant Connelly, Mr. Connelly was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam War.  He was a lifetime member of VFW and DAV.  He retired from Robins Air Force Base after 20 years of service. He was a devoted family man.  Mr. Connelly loved his Harley-Davidson.  He enjoyed shooting pool and playing poker and considered himself a “pool shark”.

Mr. Connelly is survived by his daughter, Carla Jean Connelly Townsend (Darrin) of Dublin, Georgia; stepchildren, Quinton Lamar Powell, and Angela Powell; grandchildren, Cody Henry, Andy Dukes, and Shyann Dukes; great-grandchildren, Andrew Lee Dukes, Jr., Averie Shyann Knight, and Raelynn Elizabeth Henry; sister, Carolyn E. Fowler; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Connelly was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Patricia Jean Pope Connelly and nephew, Michael Fowler.
