Shellie H. Inzer, Jr.

August 1, 1936 — April 19, 2013

Shellie H. Inzer, Jr., of Macon, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, April 19, 2013. Services will be held at 2:30 PM Tuesday, April 23, at Mulberry Street United Methodist Church. Burial will be private in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation is on Tuesday, April 23, from 12:30 to 2:30 PM in the parlor at the church. The family may be contacted at the residence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Macon Outreach at Mulberry, Mulberry Street United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 149, Macon, Georgia 31202 or to the donor's favorite charity. Shellie was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to Sarah Falls Inzer and Shellie Howard "Jack" Inzer, Sr. He was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity at Samford University where he graduated in 1958. He did additional study at the University of Kentucky. His extensive career was in the field of administration, finance, and church ministry by serving Samford University, Tift College, The Johns Hopkins University, Newberry College, and Mercer University. He continued his career at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. He served as director of the MedCen Foundation and served as the Conference treasurer/administrator of the South Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church. He continued working for several years at Hart's Mortuary. Shellie was a member of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church, serving on the administrative board as treasurer. He was involved with the Boy's Club of Macon, Macon Exchange Club, the Macon Jaycees, the Johns Hopkins Club, and Rotary Club of Newberry, South Carolina. Shellie is survived by his wife, Frances Hardy Inzer of Macon; children, Charles Whitney "Whit" Inzer (Sandy) of Barrington, New Hampshire, Steven Howard Inzer (Monica) of Clinton, New York, Lynn Rankin of Macon, Susan R. Ginn (Candler) of Cartersville, Georgia, Amy R. Spence of Macon, and Goodwin Scott "Win" Rankin III (Lauren) of Forsyth, Georgia; sister, Peggy Inzer Brown of Gadsden, Alabama; niece, Sarah Brown Hughes (Allan) of Atlanta; and nephew, Frank Inzer Brown (Jane) of Gadsden. Shellie enjoyed his nine wonderful grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Register online at www.hartsmort.com.
