Macon-Scott Preston Thomas, 47, died Wednesday, July 21, 2010 of a massive heart attack. Funeral mass will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Justin Ferguson officiating. A prayer service will be held at 6:00PM on Friday, July 23, 2010 at Hart's at the Cupola followed by a visitation until 8:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Thomas Children's Trust Fund, c/o Sun Trust Bank, 5928 Zebulon Road, Macon, GA 31210. Mr. Thomas was born November 4, 1962, in Carbondale, Illinois. He attended Valdosta State College where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Order. He also attended Savannah College of Art and Design. Mr. Thomas served in the Georgia National Guard. He was Chief Operating Officer of Bienville Plantation of White Springs, Florida. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mr. Thomas was predeceased by his grandparents, Kenneth McCain and John and Verna Thomas. Survivors include his wife of twenty years, Vickie Elerson Thomas; daughter, Caitie; son, Luke; sister, Kelly Smith (Gregg) of Macon; brother, Jamey Thomas (Tammy) of Plantation, FL; mother, Donna Glawson; father and step-mother, Richard "Lou" and Melanie Thomas; grandmother, Eileen McCain; mother and father-in-law, Gail and Quitman Todd of Waycross; step-father, William "Buddy" Glawson; step-brothers, Tripp, Steve, Dock and Bud Glawson; step-sister, Liz Glawson; and several nieces and nephews.
