Sara "Martha" Drake

Sara Martha Drake, 81, of Macon, entered her heavenly home on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at  Middle Georgia Memory Gardens, 3225 Joycliff Road in Macon.

A native of Adrian, Georgia, she spent her childhood years in Gulfport, Mississippi. Later her family moved back to Georgia and settled in Macon.  She graduated from A.L. Miller High School in 1958.  After graduation she was employed by AT&T. After 36 years of service, she retired from Bell South as a service representative for small businesses.  She enjoyed years of association with the Telephone Pioneers. Martha was a kind and gentle person who was valued as a friend and as a family member.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Thelman Drake and Nancy Brantley; and brother, Wayne Drake.

She is survived by her sister, Mary Drake Butler (Charley); nephew, Kyle Butler (Ronda);nephews, Ken and Shaun Drake; great nephew, Brannon Butler; and sister-in-law, Quin Drake.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Martha’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association, or to Southern Grace Hospice, 80 Candler Road, McDonough, GA 30253.

Hart’s at the Cupola, Hart's Mortuary and Cremation Center, 6324 Peake Rd, Macon, GA 31210 has charge of the arrangements.
