Sara Black

Sara Smith Black died Saturday, February 26, 2011. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Riverside Cemetery, with the Reverend Joe McDaniel officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00PM on Tuesday at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 3312 Northside Dr., Ste. A140, Macon, GA 31210 or to Mabel White Memorial Baptist Church, 1415 Bass Road, Macon, GA 31210. The family may be contacted at the individual residences.

Mrs. Black was a member of Mabel White Memorial Baptist Church for fifty-three years and worked for the Bibb County Board of Education for twenty-five years as a Teacher's Aid. She was active in a bowling league and also enjoyed cooking and sewing. Mrs. Black was predeceased by her husband, Wayne Walter Black, Sr.

Mrs. Black is survived by her daughters, Nita Rowland of Gray, Debbie Epps (Hugh) of Monroe County; sons, Wayne Black, Jr. (Teresa) of Ft. Valley, Clayton Black (Sandy) of Macon, Billy Black (Charlotte) of Texas, and Claude Black of Monroe County; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Bentley of Gray, Elise Coppock of N. Palm Beach, Florida; and brother, Eldred Smith of Oglethorpe, GA.
