Sandra Jo Tipton

Sandra Jo Tipton, 73, of Juliette, GA, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021. The family will greet visitors on Sunday, October 3, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Hart’s Mortuary and Cremation Center, 765 Cherry Street, Macon, GA, 31201.

Daughter of the late Julian McDuffie and Ruby Anna Wilson, Sandra was born on July 25, 1948, in Hawkinsville, Georgia. She attended Jones County High School, where she was Homecoming Queen. While attending art school in South Georgia, she met her first husband, Jimmy Wayne Tipton, and they had a daughter.

Sandra worked as a hairdresser for nearly twenty years. She then transitioned to becoming a devoted and dedicated home caregiver. When she was not caring for the elderly, Sandra could be seen feeding birds in her neighborhood, chasing squirrels away from the bird feeders, drawing, painting, playing with her cat (Bobby), enjoying ice cream (sometimes too much!), and making everyone laugh with her quirky sense of humor.

Sandra was a loving mother to Cammie Jo Tipton Amini. Cammie always remembered with gratitude Sandra’s dedication to her education, with frequent trips to the library, during the formative years of her life.

Sandra is survived by her daughter, Cammie Jo Tipton Amini (Frank) of Houston, Texas; brother, James Grimes (Glenda) of Lake City, Florida, and many loving cousins, neighbors, and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Ms. Laura Woodall, Sandra’s dedicated caregiver, for devoting substantial time and energy to care for Sandra during the last year and a half. The family would also like to express deep gratitude to Ms. Linda Hill for being Sandra’s devoted best friend, neighbor, and companion during the later years of her life.
