Sandra Kay Steele

Sandra Kay Steele, 49, died unexpectedly Saturday, December 22, 2012. Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Thursday, December 27, 2012, at Martha Bowman United Methodist Church with Dr. Jay Harris and the Reverend David Hanson officiating. Burial will be in Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, Georgia at 4:30 PM. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wesley Glen Ministries, 4580 N. Mumford Road, Macon, GA 31210. Sandra was born June 22, 1963 in Fitzgerald, Georgia. She graduated from Valdosta High School and remained a loyal Valdosta Wildcat fan. She was a former member of Saint Simons United Methodist Church and a current member of Martha Bowman United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Francis Asbury Sunday School Class and the Roberta Gardiner UMW Circle. Sandra was a volunteer at United Hospice and a resident of Wesley Glen Ministries. She is predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Walker and Annie Meadows, and her paternal grandparents, Alvie and Dale Steele. She was a loving daughter, sister, and friend to all who knew her. Sandra is survived by her parents, Charles E. "Ned" and Evelyn M. Steele of Macon; two sisters, Suzanne Johnson (David R.) of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and Sally Black (David) of Cartersville, Georgia; and a nephew, Hayes S. Johnson of Anniston, Alabama.
