Sandra Kay Newberry

Sandra Newberry, 80, of Macon, Georgia passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024.  Private inurnment will be at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, Georgia.

Sandra was born and raised in Macon.  She met her husband, Edward, in church, and as she would later tell her children, she earned her “MRS Degree” when they were married in February of 1962.  Their little family was completed with the birth of her two children, Debbie and Timothy.  Sandra enjoyed fishing and raised pure-bred Pekingese dogs.  She was a woman of many interests but caring for her loved ones was her most important work.  Sandra loved to cook for her family, and she was always the one to organize family get-togethers.  She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Henry and Mary Louise Wesley, Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Wilson Newberry, Jr.; and her son, Edward Timothy Newberry.  She is survived by her mother, Louise Boucher; her daughter Debbie Sparks; her granddaughter, Maura Holland (Darryl Cowles) of Crawford County; sister, Patricia Hayes of Thomaston, Georgia, niece, Deidra Gripenberg (Greg) of Warner Robins, Georgia; and nephew, Drew Hayes of Thomaston.
