Sally Dye Stofer Obituary Sally Stofer, a retired teacher, died on Thursday, August 28, 2014. She was 68 years old. Mrs. Stofer taught for years at Tattnall Square Academy. She considered her job a blessing due to the many wonderful coworkers, students and parents she met along the way. Born in Columbia, South Carolina and raised in Great Falls, South Carolina, she was a graduate of Winthrop College and received a Master's degree in Education from Georgia State University in Atlanta. Mrs. Stofer was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She and her late husband Fred delighted in watching their children grow and create their own lives. She is survived by her daughter Susan Stofer Chandler (Brian) of Pinehurst, North Carolina, her son John Stofer (Kristi) of Arlington, Virginia, her sister Carol Denton of Macon, Georgia and her six grandchildren: Jack, Abigail, Clayton, Caleb, Mae and Baby Girl Chandler (due November 2014). A memorial service will be held at Forest Hills United Methodist Church on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at 2:00PM with the Reverends Dianne Sweckard, Baxter Hurley, and Teresa Edwards officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Macon. The family will receive visitors between 3:00 - 5:00pm on Saturday at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road. The family requests that memorial donations be sent to the organ fund at Forest Hills United Methodist Church, 1217 Forest Hill Road, Macon, Georgia 31210. Register online at www.hartsmort.com.
