Mrs. Ruth Elaine Belt Roberts peacefully passed away April 20, 2012, in Macon, GA. She was born May 14, 1933 in West Virginia to Mary and Georges Ramsburg. She was 78. Mrs. Roberts attended elementary and high school in Michigan and received a scholarship to Michigan State University in journalism. She was married to the late Col. James Eugene Belt, a US Air Force pilot, and they moved to Riverside, California. After being widowed, Mrs. Roberts married the late Lt. Col. Robert Neale Roberts, Sr. and moved to Warner Robins, Georgia. She was active in the Robins Air Force Base Officers' Women's Club, an active Brownie Leader and Class mother. She was also active in the Perry Panthers Parents for Perry High School. She retired as the plan room construction news reporter for F.W. Dodge McGaw-Hill Company after 30 years of excellent service. She was active in the Macon Little Theater, on stage, but more often, behind the scenes. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and an active member of the Martha Bowman Memorial United Methodist Church of Macon, Georgia. She enjoyed bird watching, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her daughters: Lisa Marie Belt Roberts of Macon, Georgia, Kathleen Joanne Belt Roberts Highland of Kansas City, Kansas, and her grandson Thomas Neale Randall of Macon, Georgia. Her body has been donated to the Mercer University School of Medicine. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Thursday, April 26th, at 4:00 p.m. at Martha Bowman Memorial United Methodist Church. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Meals On Wheels, Martha Bowman Memorial United Methodist Church, or the charity of choice.
