Ruth C. Mccallum

Lizella-Ruth C. McCallum, 92, died Sunday, August 28, 2011. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 3:00PM at Lizella Baptist Church with the Reverend Gary Thomas officiating. Burial will be at the McCallum family cemetery in Monroe County, Moran, Georgia on Tharpe Road. Visitation will be between 6:00-8:00PM on Friday, September 2, 2011 at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, Macon. The family may be contacted at 102 Myrick Drive, the residence of Jimmy and Diane McCallum.

Mrs. McCallum was the widow of the late Frank McCallum and the daughter of the late Willie Copeland and the late Bessie (Porter) Copeland of Marianna, Florida. She was a member of Lizella Baptist Church. She retired from the William Carter Company as a seamstress.

Survivors include her daughter, Joan Tarpley Rish of Lizella; sons, Bruce McCallum (Helen) of Musella, and Jimmy McCallum (Diane) of Macon; 5 grandchildren, Dwayne Tarpley, Gretchen Brennan, Eric McCallum, Ethan McCallum, and Jamie Jackson; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Lucille Nelson and Vera Brink, both of California; and several nieces and nephews.
