Ruth Wirick Jennings, 89, died April 14, 2017. A graveside service will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Valdosta, Georgia. The Reverend John McGowan will be officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Mulberry Street United Methodist Church, Acolyte Program or the Altar Guild, 719 Mulberry Street, Macon, Georgia 31201. The body will lie in state on Friday, April 21, 2017 from 9:00AM-5:00PM at Hart's Mortuary at the Cupola. Mrs. Jennings was a member of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church, where she served on the Altar Guild. She also served as President of the Women's Club of Macon. Mrs. Jennings is survived by her daughter, Muffan Jennings of Monroe, Georgia; sister, Valliere Jones (Byron) of Grayson, Georgia; brother, Alton M. "Buddy" Johnson Jr. (Jean) of Valdosta, Georgia; grandson, Walker Jennings Sherrill of Monroe, Georgia; two grandchildren, Michaela Rose Smith and Walker Sherrill Smith of Monroe, Georgia.
