Ruth Genevieve Smith

Macon-Ruth Genevieve "Jenny" Smith, 84, of Macon, passed away Monday, November 30, 2009. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 3, 2009, at 4:00PM, in the chapel of Hart's Mortuary on Cherry Street with Pastor Ronnie Hollis officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2009, from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Hart's on Cherry Street. The family may be contacted at 4641 Fulton Mill Road. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to your favorite charity. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Church of the Brethren in West Virginia. She loved to cook and provide for the needs of others. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Smith and her sister, Judy Garrison. The family would like to thank all professional and non professional caregivers and a special thanks to primary caregivers, JoNita Jones and Pat Meeks. Survivors: Daughter, JoNita Jones; Grandson, Patrick Bryan Ferguson; Granddaughter, Fara Ruth Ferguson; Brothers, Gene (Lila) Gamble, Dale Gamble, Bob (Peggy) Gamble, Dennis (Mary Alice) Gamble; Sister, Pat Meeks, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and almost grandchildren, Jon Trainor, Vanessa Sullivan and many other loved ones. Hart's Mortuary and Crematory, Cherry Street, has charge of arrangements.
