Russell Cohen

Howard “Russell” Cohen, 64, of Macon, Georgia entered his eternal rest on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. Russell was born on September 23, 1959 in Jacksonville, Florida to Robert and Virginia (Smith) Cohen. He grew up in Deland, Florida and attended Deland High School, graduating in 1978. After high school, Russell attended Furman University where he served as President of the Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) fraternity.  After graduating from Furman, Russell attended the Crummer School of Business at Rollins College graduating with a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA).

In his early years of work, he was a Software Development Manager at AT&T before starting a career in Property Management, including owning his own management group. Russell made many important decisions in his life. The most important one came when he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. He was faithful to attend the local church throughout his life and he most recently attended First Baptist Orlando in Florida, LifePointe Church in Eustis, Florida, and Northway Church in Macon, Georgia.

Russell is survived by his wife of 3 years, Laurie Sempier; his three children, William Cohen of Orlando, Florida, Douglas (Lili) Cohen of Jacksonville, Florida, Daniel (Lexi) Cohen of Orlando, Florida; his mother, Virginia Cohen; his sister, Debra Hagler; his brother, David (Jil) Cohen; one grandchild; eight nieces and nephews; and seven step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Cohen.

There will be a Celebration of Life on September 7, 2024 at 10:00AM with a reception immediately following at First Baptist Church of Orlando (Faith Hall), 3000 South John Young Parkway, Orlando, Florida, 32805. The family invites you to attend. A live stream link will also be made available.
