Runette H. Hendley

Runette H. Hendley, 82, of Macon, Georgia, passed away Monday, October 21, 2024.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Hart’s at the Cupola with Tommy Williams officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow the service at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.

Daughter of the late Joseph Walter Harris and Sara Catherine Hall Harris, Runette was born in Macon, Georgia on August 5, 1942. She was a cherished member of the community and an honor graduate of A.L. Miller High School. She was a member of the Miller Business Club for three years, Beta Club, and National Honor Society for two years.

Runette retired after a fulfilling 30-year career in Civil Service. Her commitment to work was paralleled by her love for flowers.  She enjoyed working in the yard and was a member of Northwoods Garden Club, where she served as vice president and corresponding secretary.

Runette will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 60 years, Bobby Hendley of Macon; sons, Brett Hendley (Kathy) and Bart Hendley (Kristi), both of Macon; grandchildren, Blake Hendley, Mia Hendley, and Ty Hendley; brother, Joe Harris; niece, Stephanie Harris; and special friend, Kathy Johnson.

In addition to her parents, Runette was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Brooke Hendley, and sister-in-law, Gwen Harris.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to occupational therapist, Sheila Fowler, Affinis Hospice, and Zebulon Park Health & Rehab for their wonderful care and support.
