Rubye Devereux Winters

Rubye Devereux Winters of Toccoa, Ga. passed away at Clary Care Center in Toccoa, Ga. on May 25. She was born in Devereux, Ga. on June 22, 1918 and graduated from Sparta High School, Sparta, Georgia in 1936. Following high school she received a Business Degree from Wesleyan Conservatory. She was preceded in death by her husband of 76 years, Joseph Harry Winters, originally from Gray, Georgia; her parents, Roy Devereux and Annie Hitchcock Devereux; two sisters, Carolyn D. Brown and Marian D. Price; and brothers, Roy Jr. Devereux and Sam Devereux. She is survived by her Sister, Rosa Garrett, Titusville, Florida; Sister-in-Law, Mary Evelyn Devereux, Roswell, Georgia, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was a member of Eastern Star and active in her local Baptist Church for many years. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 1:00P.M. at Bradley Baptist Church, Jones County. Reverend Steve Johnson will be officiating. In lieu of flowers the family request a donation be made to your favorite charity.
