Rubye Bowman Smith

Rubye B. Smith, 78, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 18, 2013. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 22, 2013 at 11:00AM in the chapel of Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street. Burial will be at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Smith was the widow of Woodrow Smith for which they were married 30 years. She was born in Reidsville, North Carolina to the late Richard and Levenia Bowman. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her brothers, Elmer, Junior, Fred and Michael Bowman. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Fort Valley, Georgia. She is survived by her daughters, Jane (George) Carithers of Macon, Faye Ogletree of Carlise, PA and Gail Smith of Warner Robins; step-daughter, Delma (Charles) Moore of Greensboro, NC; step-son, Harold T. Smith of Statesville, NC; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and brother, Marvin (Martha) Bowman of Reidsville, NC. Register online at www.hartsmort.com.
