Roy Brooks Greene

Roy Brooks Greene, 90, of Macon, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2020. A graveside service will be held Friday, July 3, 2020, at 10:00 AM at Macon Memorial Park with the Pastor Mike Gibbs officiating.

Mr. Greene was the son of the late Lee Rufus and Lollie Lewis Greene. He married Helen Young of Macon on Saturday, May 1, 1954. He was a member of Wesleyan Drive Baptist Church. Mr. Greene was preceded in death by his children, Debra Lee Greene and Kerry Brooks Greene. He was the last surviving member of ten siblings.

Mr. Greene is survived by his sons Ronnie Greene (Carol), David Greene (Linda), Scott Greene (Joannie), Robert Greene (Beth) of Macon and daughter Lynn Spring (Tony) from Ailey, Georgia; step-son Bill Yamber (Linda) of Orlando, Florida; grandchildren. Ron Greene (Kristin), VeRelle Greene, Brooks Greene (Kelly), Dave Greene, Sam Spring, Allie Spring, Evan Greene, Ruby Greene, Brandon Greene (Andie), Megan Mullis (Grant), Sarah Greene and Courtney Yamber, and many nephews and nieces.

Mr. Greene was the owner of Greene Plumbing and Heating Company in the 80s and 90s until he turned the business over to his son in 2001. He was a devoted husband and father who believed in being honest and meeting his commitments. He loved joy rides in his car and keeping his yards, but his biggest pride was his grandchildren.
