Macon- Roy Lamar Dunn, Jr. passed away on June 29, 2011 in a local hospital. Services will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2011, at 11:00AM in the Chapel of Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street, with the Reverend Cile Mitchell and Chip Dunn officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10:00AM until 11:00AM on Saturday at the funeral home. Mr. Dunn was the son of Roy Lamar Dunn, Sr. and Helen Darden Dunn. He was a lifelong resident of Macon. Mr. Dunn attended Alexander III and graduated from Lanier High School for Boys. He attended Mercer University where he was a member of ATO fraternity before enlisting in the United States Air Force during World War II. He was the owner and operator of R. L. Dunn Company for more than forty years. Mr. Dunn was a member of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church for his eighty-five years of life, serving on the Administrative Board and as president of the Solomon Men's Bible Class. Mr. Dunn is survived by his wife, Marianne Dunn; sons, Roy "Chip" Dunn III (Cathy) of Forsyth and Gary Dunn of Macon; daughter, Susanna Barnes of Marietta; sister, Dorothy Dunn of Lake Sinclair; seven grandchildren, Melissa Herndon (Jeffrey), Caleb Dunn, Lindsey Dunn, Jessica Barnes, Cameron Barnes, Philip Dunn and Caroline Dunn.
