Roger W. Comeau, Ph.D. April 22, 1935 to April 10, 2015. Dr. Roger W. Comeau was born in Quincy, Massachusetts. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Boston University where he studied opera and biology. He studied two years at the medical school of Boston University, but left to work in scientific research at Mead Johnson. He graduated with a Ph.D. in Physiology from the University of Rochester in Minnesota. Dr. Comeau was the chair of the Biology Department of Middle Georgia College of the University of Georgia System in Cochran, GA. He was a founding member of the School of Medicine of Mercer University where he taught Physiology in the Department of Basic Science. He began at Mercer in December 1979. During his tenure, he was the Associate Dean for Admissions and Student Affairs of the School of Medicine at Mercer University. At his retirement in June 2000, he was appointed Associate Dean Emeritus of Admissions and Student Affairs. He returned in September 2005 to the Dean's Office where he worked until May 2007. Dr. Comeau received a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from the Mercer University School of Medicine. He was also an actor and singer in local community theatre. He appeared on the stages of Macon Little Theatre and Theatre Macon. He also acted in plays at Mercer University and Middle Georgia State University, formerly Macon State College and Macon Junior College. Dr. Comeau is survived by his three sons: Mike (wife Sabrina) (children Madison and Makenzie) of Kathleen, GA, Steven (wife Paula) in Roswell, GA, and Paul (wife Linda) (children Hunter and Tyler) of Gadsden, AL. Hart's Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. A visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, April 18. 2015 at 765 Cherry Street, Macon, GA.
