Robert Meriwether Young III

Robert Meriwether Young III, 54, of Macon, passed away at his home on Monday, November 2, 2026. A memorial service in his honor will be held at Hart’s at the Cupola on Saturday, November 7, 2026, beginning at 2:00 PM. His family will meet and greet guest following the service.

Born September 15, 1972, Robert was a lifelong resident of Macon and never met a stranger. He enjoyed spending time at the beach, laughing with loved ones, and doting on his beloved fur babies, Niki and Saint. Robert was an avid fan of the Atlanta Falcons and Georgia Tech Football. A “wizard with a weed eater”, he could make landscaping masterpieces appear seemingly from thin air. Plants were truly Robert’s passion, and it was an honor to witness his immense talent. Most recently, he cared for the grounds at Wesleyan College. Robert was larger than life and always the life of any party, but never left without saying, “I love you”.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Robert Meriwether Young, Jr. He is survived by his mother, Paula M, Murphy (Steve); brothers, Nicholas Young (Kimberly) and William Young; sister, Kathryn Lindstrom; aunt, JoAnn Bailey (Steve); uncle, John Mansfield (Vicki); and nieces and nephews, Oliver Young, Avery Young, Emma McDaniel, and Kinley McDaniel.
