Robert Eric Thompson

Robert “Eric” Thompson, 58, of Gray, Georgia passed away peacefully surrounded by family Thursday, November 25, 2021 following his battle with cancer. The family will gather for a (drop-in) celebration of Eric’s life on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Bradley Baptist Church from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. All family and friends are asked to join in the fellowship to honor Eric’s memory. A private burial will be held later.

Eric was born October 23, 1963 in Macon but was a life-long resident of Jones County. He graduated from Jones County High School and was an employee at Southern Company/Georgia Power for over thirty-five years. Eric was the son of the late Buddy and Virginia Thompson of Haddock.  He is survived by his children, Cole (Rachel) Thompson and Madison (Matt) Johnson; his granddaughter, Harvey Lee Johnson; his brothers, and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Eric’s memory to the Caring House, 2625 Pickett Road, Durham, NC 27705.
