Mr. Robert Darrin Tate, 53, of Jones County, born in Mobile, Alabama, December 21, 1970, passed away Saturday morning, August 10, 2024.
Darrin is preceded in death by his mother, Brenda Jenkins and his beloved wiener dog, Zoey.
He is survived by his father, J.D. Tate (wife, Patti); daughter, Andria Childree (husband, Christopher); son, Robert Kelley (wife, Ashley); sister, Christina Munro (husband, Davie and their daughter and Robert’s very special niece, Georgia) brother, Darryl Tate (wife, Doretha and their daughter Tiffany Wiley (Marcus)); his partner, Eva Purslow (her children, Anthony and Alexandria); and his seven grandchildren, Nick, Henry, Scarlett, Amber, Lorelei, Hayden and Madison.
Darrin was a 1989 graduate of Jones County High School, and afterwards, he served in the United States Marine Corps as an aviation mechanic. After his service, became a long-haul truck driver, and finally settled in Jones County, working as a mechanic for the Jones County School Transportation Department.
The family would like to thank Mr. Greg and the rest of Darrin’s work family for the continued love and support throughout these troubling times. Memorial services and military honors will be held at the Jones County School Transportation Depot, 237 Railroad Street, in Gray, Georgia at 11:00AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to ask that you make a small donation to an animal shelter of your choosing in honor of Darrin and the love he had for all animals.
