Robert O. Swift

Our beloved father, Robert O. Swift, passed away peacefully at his home in Austin, Texas on November 28, 2023, at the age of 93. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Anita Drinnon Swift, and his sister, Evelyn Swift Rosenberg.

He was born in Savannah, GA on August 27, 1930 and grew up in Macon and attended Lanier High School for Boys. He had a lifelong passion for golf, and he loved to speak about it. Robert and Anita first met and bonded over their mutual appreciation for dancing. Married on January 18th 1958, Robert and Anita enjoyed a long and happy marriage of 52 years.

He is survived by his children, son, William O. Swift (Kimberly) and daughter, Deborah Swift, as well as five grandchildren; Alison Dunning (Christopher), Paul Willis (Amelia), Robert O. Swift III (Teresa), William O. Swift, Jr., and Jolene N. Swift.

Robert was a 1958 graduate of The school of Engineering at The Georgia Institute of Technology. He enjoyed a long and successful career in international marketing and sales which led him to travel and experiences all over the world. Anita was able to accompany him to Germany, England, France, Italy, Morocco, Australia, New Zealand, and other far-flung locations.

There is no service planned at this time. The family asks that donations to The American Cancer Society be made instead of flowers or other gifts.
