Robert A. "Hook" Stewart: 85, of Macon, Georgia passed away Saturday, January 17, 2009. Graveside services will be held Monday, January 19, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in Rose Hill Cemetery. Dr. Tim Bagwell will officiate. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 18, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Born in Bibb County, he was the son of the late Robert Alexander Stewart, Sr. and Minnie Goldsmith Stewart. He was a graduate of Lanier High School, where he was only student to letter in four sports, and was a city champion tennis player. He was the former owner of Hook Stewart Service Station. Mr. Stewart was a baliff at the Bibb County Courthouse for 19 years, and member of the Mickey Fuller Masonic Lodge, where he achieved a 32nd degree Mason. He was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church and an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife, Opal H. Stewart of Macon; Children, Robert A. Stewart III (Paula) of Macon; Leslie Dixon(John) of Macon, Grandchildren, Beau Stewart, Brooke Stewart, Shana Oxford, Lacey Oxford, Cecily Oxford, all of Macon, Leigh Dixon, Lynn Dixon, Taylor Dixon, all of Gray; great Grandchild, Isabella Oxford of Macon; Sister, Ruth Stewart Thurston of Macon.
