Robert Joseph "Bob" Sires died Sunday, June 19, 2016. A memorial service will be held at Gray United Methodist Church on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 3:00PM in the Historic Chapel with Dr. Jason Wade and Reverend Jay Tucker officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. The visitation will be held from 1:00PM-3:00PM in the Gray United Methodist Church family life center. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Building Fund, Gray United Methodist Church, 117 South Jefferson St., Gray, GA 31032. Mr. Sires was born May 22, 1946 in Macon and had lived in Gray most of his adult life. He was the son of the late Ralph Murrah Sires and Claudia Latane Sires. He was a graduate of Jones County High School and Brenau College in Gainesville, GA. Bob was a retired Lt. Colonel, Assistant Chief of Law Enforcement for the Department of Natural Resources. He was an active member of Gray United Methodist Church and the Sunshine Sunday School Class for many years and served in various positions during this time. Mr. Sires is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 48 years Patricia Brown Sires of Gray; daughter and son-in-law Tommy and Amy Wells of Athens, GA; son and daughter-in-law Joe and Jessica Sires of Gray; grandchildren Wesley, Luke, Tanner and Zach of Athens, and Gracie and Campbell of Gray; sister-in-laws, Ellen Childs Sires and Jeanette Warren.
