Robert "Pa" Screws

Robert "Pa" Screws, 80, of Macon, died Wednesday, December 23, 2020.  Funeral services will be held Monday, December 28, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Hart’s on Cherry Street with the Reverend James Cannon officiating.  The family will greet friends one hour prior.  Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery.

Mr. Screws was a mechanic for Youmans Chevrolet for over 20 years.  Prior to working for Youmans, he worked at Gandy Pool.  Mr. Screws was recently employed for Chuck DuPree Diesel Tech.  He loved going fishing and spending time with his grandchildren, Amanda Watkins (Josh), Christy Tucker (Josh), and Keith Miller.  He looked forward to riding his golf card with his great-grandchildren, Gavin, Emma, Jace, and Ansleigh.

Mr. Screws was preceded in death by brothers, James Screws and Lester Screws, and sister, Juanita Bryan.

Mr. Screws is survived by his wife of 54 years, Aver Lee Screws of Macon; children, Brenda Schneider, of Macon, Kathy Simpson (Tommy) of Baxley, Georgia, Johnny Harper (Kathy) of Alma, Georgia, and Bobby Miller (Sonya) of Macon; 8 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brothers, Lant Screws (Faye) and Jimmy Screws (Ruby), both of Sandersville, Georgia, and Gordon Screws of Tennille, Georgia; sisters, Tilly “Sissy” Williams of Sandersville, Georgia, and Jewel Gunn of Jacksonville, Florida.
