Robert “Bob” Weyman Reese, Sr., of Macon passed away July 2, 2020. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, a graveside service with immediate family only, will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery, Eatonton, GA at a later date. Dr. Randal Reese, Bob’s son, and pastor at Rocky Creek Baptist Church in Mansfield, will officiate.
Bob was born in Eatonton, Georgia to the late Weyman Reese and the late Grace Dearman Reese. He was an avid athlete at Putnam County (Eatonton) High School and went on to The University of Georgia where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in physical education and a Master’s Degree in Science Education. He taught and coached in Mitchell-Baker County and was named Star Teacher. He went on to pursue a career in educational sales with Borg-Warner and later, IBM. He served as Director of Technology for Bibb County Schools, Macon, GA, then Director of G.S.A.M.S. (Georgia Statewide Academic and Medical Systems) for the Georgia Department of Administrative Services in Atlanta until retiring in 2001. He was a Sunday School Teacher at Mable White Baptist Church for the "Faith Builders" class. At the time of his passing, he was a member of Ingleside Baptist Church and of the "Journey" Sunday School class.
Bob is survived by his wife of 28 years, Kathy Reese, of Macon. He has 6 children, Debbi Reese of Perry, Cindy Reese of Macon, Robert (Kelly) Reese of Warner Robins, Randy (Deanna) Reese of Mansfield, Gina Reese of Perry, Kristie Reese Blizzard of Macon, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Kathy’s children, Kenny (Nicole) Bunch and Billy (Amelia) Bunch of Colorado are also a part of the Reese immediate family.
