Robert John McNeill Ill, died Monday, March 24, 2025. He was the son of the late Agnes Bragg McNeill and the late Robert John McNeill, Jr., of Perry Georgia. John was a standout athlete at Perry High School and attended Presbyterian College on a football scholarship. Following college, he proudly served his country as a First Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. John was involved in a number of businesses. He worked in insurance for A.L. Williams and Associates and in commercial real estate for Eberhardt and Barry, before starting his own successful real estate development company, John McNeill and Co. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Order, a past member of the Macon Civic Club, a Championship­-winning coach at Vine Ingle Little League, a Sunday school teacher at Christ Church, and an avid hunter and fly fisherman. John loved the North Carolina mountains with all of his heart.

Survivors include Martha McKenzie McNeill; Daughter, McKenzie McNeill Moore and husband Hank; Sons, Robert John McNeill IV and wife Alison and William Taylor McNeill and wife Leah; Sister, Susan McNeill Crook and husband Max; Grandchildren, Caroline Taylor Swan, Martha Knox Moore, Robert John McNeill V, Hudson Powell McNeill, Maren Weaver McNeill and Edith Quinn McNeill; Niece, Melissa Crook White and husband Bob; Nephews, John Nelson Crook and wife Terri and William Anderson Crook.

Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vine Ingle Little League, P.O. Box 26399, Macon, GA 31221 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
