Robert "Luke" Lucas

Robert "Luke" Lucas passed away on November 13, 2015. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015, at 12:00 Noon, at Hart's Mortuary at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, Macon, Georgia. There will be a reception following the service. He will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn South Cemetery in Davie, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jay's Hope, 1157B Forsyth Street, Macon, GA 31201. Mr. Lucas graduated from the Air Force Academy with a degree in engineering mechanics. He served as a pilot and a flight instructor for the U.S. Air Force and taught at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical School. He earned a master's degree in engineering from Mercer University. He served in Desert Shield and Desert Storm, and following his military career, he served as a pilot for FedEx. Mr. Lucas was predeceased by his mother, Jean Lucas. He is survived by his wife, Amy C. Lucas of Macon, Georgia; son, Kyle Lucas of Macon, Georgia; father, Robert "Bob" Lucas of Pembroke Pines, Florida; father- in-law, Harold Champagne of Eatonton, Georgia; brother, Jim Lucas (Kim) of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; sister, Dawn Cousins (Dean) of Oviedo, Florida; brother, John Lucas (Jamie) of Knoxville, Tennessee; sister-in-law, Bonny Champagne (Ty Rhame) of Atlanta, Georgia; brother-in-law, Casey Champagne (Michelle) of Milledgeville, Georgia; nieces, Brittany Lucas, Megan Lucas, Kate Cousins, Zoe Lucas, Jillian Lucas, Sophie Lucas; and nephews, Nick Rhame and Grant Rhame.
