Robert “Bob” O’Cain House went to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday, May 6, 2024.
Bob was born on May 20, 1936 in Macon, Georgia. He was the son of the late Mitchel Patrie House, Sr. and Louise O’Cain House. Bob was a graduate of Lanier High School, Mercer University and John Marshall Law School. During high school, he served in the U.S. Navy Reserve, and following high school, the U.S. Marine Corp. He was a long-time member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
Bob was the owner of Middle Georgia Claims Service before attending law school. He began practicing law with Melton, McKenna and House firm in 1978, and then the law firm of Sell and Melton. He entered private practice in 1981.
Bob was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Mitchel Patrie House, Jr.; and stepson, Jay Landon Jones. He is survived by his wife, Julia Jackson House; son, Robert O’Cain House, Jr. (Iris) of Macon; daughter, Bonnie Lynn Arbo of Amelia Island, Florida; stepdaughter, Jennifer Jones Blackmon (Randy) of Atlanta; grandchildren, Lucas O’Cain House, Emily Ann Arbo, and Anna Catherine Arbo; step-grandchildren, William Jackson Blackmon and Abigail Ann Blackmon.
A memorial service with the Reverend Doctor Bryan Hinson officiating will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2024 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 753 College Street, Macon, Georgia 31201, followed by a graveside service with military honors at Riverside Cemetery, 1301 Riverside Drive, Macon, Georgia 31202.
