Robert Thelmadge Grizzard, Jr.

Robert (Bob) T. Grizzard, Jr., 63, of Gray, Georgia, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. A memorial service will be held at 7:00p.m. on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel, with Reverend John Haney officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service, from 5:00-7:00pm. Family is asking that everyone wear masks.

Robert was born in Adrian, Georgia on November 17, 1957, to the late Robert T. Grizzard, Sr. and Eula Jeanette Grizzard. He served in the United States Air Force, prior to becoming a police officer and Emergency Medical Technician for 20 years. For the remainder of his years, he enjoyed a career in pest control. He was also a proud, active member of the Freemasons. He was known by his family as “Mr. Fix It” due to his many talents. He loved fishing, hunting, bird watching, and spending time with his family.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 36 years, Lynn Grizzard; children, Christa Johnson (Phil), of Louisville, Kentucky, Robert “Trey” Grizzard, III, of Milledgeville, Georgia, and Mathew Grizzard, of Gray, Georgia; grandsons, Christian and Caden Grizzard; siblings, Tony Garris (Jane), of Adrian, Georgia, Dawn Boaen (William), of Savannah, Georgia, Janet Gardner, of Adrian, Georgia, Lynda Becker, of Swainsboro, Georgia, and Angela Smith (Ralph), of Brunswick, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mari Rich.
