Robert Arlie Green 1919 -2009 On Sunday January 11, 2009, Robert Arlie Green of Gray, Georgia was called home to his Lord. He was born December 24, 1919 in Omaha, Nebraska. He worked at Union Pacific Railroad for 44 years, retiring as General Forman of the Omaha car shop. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and was stationed in Guam. After retiring from the railroad in 1980, he made his life in Gray, Georgia. He was a devoted husband and father. Until his later years, he was very active in his church. He was a long-time member of Cross Keys Baptist Church, where he often donated his skills in building and repair. He was later a member of Shurlington, now Greenwood Baptist Church of Gray, Georgia. Preceded in death by daughter Marcia Stoller of La Vista, Nebraska, brothers Verl Green and Richard Green and sisters Elva Hanson and Leola Scott , all of Omaha, Nebraska. Survived by wife, Louise Smith Green of Gray, Georgia. Sons James (Sue) Green of Omaha, Nebraska and Brent (Jeny) Green of Conyers, Georgia. Daughter Deanna (John) Foley of Omaha, Nebraska. Sister Darlene Blankenship of Omaha, Nebraska. Grandchildren, Great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. The family will receive relatives and friends at Hart's Mortuary in downtown Macon, Georgia on Tuesday January 13, 2009 from 5PM-7PM. Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Wednesday January 14, 2009, also at Hart's Mortuary in Macon. The family sincerely thanks pallbearers Shannon Brantley, Scott Brantley, Marty Smith, Brian Lareau, Chris Stewart, and Bill Martin. Hart's Mortuary and Crematory on Cherry Street has charge of arrangements.
