Robert Wayne Daughtry, Sr.

Robert Wayne Daughtry, Sr. Passed away on July 12, 2018. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 3:00PM at Highland Hills Baptist Church with the reverends Jake Hall and James Bruner officiating. The family will greet friends on Monday, July 16, 2018 from 5:00-7:00PM at Hart’s Mortuary, 765 Cherry Street, Macon, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mount de Sales Academy, attention: Touchdown Club, 851 Orange Street, Macon, Georgia 31201.

Mr. Daughtry was a lifelong resident of Macon, Georgia and attended Highland Hills Baptist Church. He grew up in Shirley Hills and attended Lanier High School in Macon; graduating in 1954. Mr. Daughtry served in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1954-1956. After exiting the Army, he attended the University of Georgia for two years. He then retired from his career with Proctor and Gamble after 27 years in the sales industry. Mr. Daughtry’s passion was his family and UGA football. He loved to talk SEC football. Mr. Daughtry was married for 56 years to his high school sweetheart, Charlotte Jackson Daughtry, who preceded him in death. They had a great romance for all those years. Mr. Daughtry was also preceded in death by his parents, Reedy and Eddie Marie Daughtry and brother, Kenneth Daughtry.

Mr. Daughtry is survived by his son, Robert W. Daughtry, Jr. (Genia) Of Gray, Georgia; daughter, Debbie Daughtry of New York, New York; grandsons, Drake Daughtry and Colin Love of Gray; granddaughters, Alex Daughtry and Taylor Love of Gray; and brother, Tim Daughtry of Colorado.
