Robert "Bob" Stanley Carey

Robert (Bob) Stanley Carey, 84, of Macon, Georgia, went to meet his Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 13, 2025. The family will greet friends for visitation on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, in the Chapel of Hart’s Mortuary at the Cupola. The family will also greet friends for a time of visitation from 12:00pm to 1:00pm before the funeral service, which will be held at 1:00 pm, on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, in the Chapel of Hart’s Mortuary at the Cupola. Burial will be held at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, 7070 Houston Road, Macon, Georgia 31216, following the service. Contributions can be made to the Gideons International at www.gideons.org in honor of Robert Stanley Carey.

Bob was born on July 15, 1941, in Beacon, New York, to the late Stanley Fletcher Carey and Mary Evelyn Cook. He was a builder and developer by trade and co-owner of Gibson-Carey Construction Company. Bob was also a Minister of Music and a Pastor. Robert was involved with Parkway Baptist Church, and his faith followed him wherever he went. Bob had a true passion for the Lord, and for people. His first question to anyone he met was “Do you love Jesus?” He truly followed the footprints of his Lord, and he leaves a legacy of faith, compassion, and love. Robert also loved working, hunting, and fishing. He loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed.

Robert is survived by his wife, Betty Myers Carey; his children, Robert T. Carey (Dee) and Wendy C. Taylor; his step-daughter, Shannon Myers Mullis (Johnny); his grandchildren, Austin Carey Taylor, Colin R. Phillips-Carey, and Lowery J. Carey; his step-grandchildren, Luc Bennett, Peyton Brian Wilson, Ethan Lee Wilson, Cassie Mullis, Brandon Mullis, Lilly Mullis; his sister, Patti Carey Fuqua; his brother-in-law, Reggie Gibson (Evelyn); and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Yvonne Gibson Carey; and his brother-in-law, Dan Fuqua.
