Mrs. Powell was born April 20, 1939, in Cleburne County, Ala. to the late William L Beck and Lula Mae Beck. She was honored to be a stay-at-home mom dedicated to her husband and family. She served the Lord Jesus Christ and the Body of Christ through music ministry. She played the piano for churches in Japan, and numerous states as she and the family traveled while her husband served in the USAF.

She blessed her family working with her hands, sewing, creating crafts for church, Sunday School and Vacation Bible Schools for most of her life. She never missed being in church demonstrating her love for the Lord and being an example of faithfulness. Her life was a testimony of God’s grace and mercy and power. She was a member of Safe Harbor Church in Macon, Ga.

Mrs. Powell was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Johnnie H. Powell. Left to cherish Mrs. Powell’s memory are her brothers, Bill Beck (Martha), Ken Beck (Song), her two sons Johnnie Powell. Jr. (Cindy) Jeffrey Powell Sr. (Marilyn) Grandchildren, Leanne Simpson (Elijah) Jay Powell (Elizabeth), Jamie Slaton (Johnny Ray), Rebecca Keene (Sean) Bethany Collins (Coty) Jeffrey Powell Jr.(Kaycee), Meghan Reeves, Marshall Glass (Meghan), Robert Glass (Kara) and many great grandchildren she loved dearly along with a host of many nieces and nephews. She loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

The family wishes to thank all who have ministered to Robbie in the past two years. And a special wish of gratitude for the wonderful people of Antebellum Senior Living on Arlington. No words can express what those people have meant to our family.
