Macon

Rickey Lee Johnson, 77, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026, in Macon, Georgia. His family will host a time for visitation on Sunday, May 3, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, at Hart’s on Cherry Street.

Born on April 2, 1949, in Louisville, Kentucky, Rickey lived a full and vibrant life marked by his dedication to family, work, and the simple joys that brought him happiness. Rickey spent 36 years as a Senior Fabrication Technician at Brown & Williamson Tobacco. His career was a testament to his hard work and commitment.

Rickey’s greatest joy came from the time he spent with his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly Johnson; daughters, Elizabeth Louise Cody Johnson and Brandy Jo Johnson Nelson (Scott); stepson, Samuel Seekins; grandson, Truth Nelson; siblings, Sue Kessler; Donald Johnson (Dawn); Mark Johnson; Ann Whitaker (Bo); Paul Johnson; and Dawn Johnson; cousin, Robin Borzotta (Anthony); and many cherished nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Neville and Charlene Johnson and stepdaughter Kendall Seekins.

Rickey had a magnetic personality that drew people to him. Known for his charm, humor, and outgoing nature, he was a jokester who could light up any room. He loved fishing and golfing and was an avid fan of college sports—especially cheering on the UGA Bulldogs and the Louisville Cardinals. Rickey also enjoyed shopping trips and spending quality time with loved ones. His love for animals was evident in the special bond he shared with his pets Charlie, Baby Ruth, and Earl.

A man of simple pleasures, Rickey never turned down a good deviled egg or an opportunity to share laughter with those around him. His warmth and love for life left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.

May Rickey’s memory bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
