Richard H. Knight

Richard H. Knight, 90, of Macon, passed away Monday, November 26, 2018. A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Hart’s at the Cupola with the Reverend Andy Oxford officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery at a later date.

Mr. Knight was a member of Vineville Baptist Church. He loved playing golf, listening to jazz music, building things and working in the yard. He was a collector of Civil War artifacts and memorabilia. He was a great father that looked after his family and loved his family dearly. He worked at the C&S bank in Macon for 30 years. He started in the mail room after high school and reached the position of Vice President. Mr. Knight felt strongly that a bank should serve its community, and many people got their start in business thanks to his help. He then worked for the New England Life Insurance Company where he received many performance awards until his retirement. Mr. Knight is preceded in death by his wife, Jean House Knight and siblings, John Travis Knight, Dorothy Knight Dickie, Brozia Dallas Knight, Jr., and Robert Gelston Knight.

Mr. Knight is survived by his sons, John Travis Knight of Macon and Skeebo (Debbie) Knight of Macon; and several nieces and nephews.
