Richard Grant

Richard Joseph Grant, 63, of Macon, Georgia, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2014. There will be a private family service held at a later date. Inurnment will be in Andrews Memorial Cemetery, Andrews South Carolina. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to ChildFund International, P.O. Box 26507, Richmond, VA 23261-6507. Mr. Grant was born in Columbia, South Carolina to the Late John Bynum Grant, Jr. and Katherine Porter Grant. He graduated from West Forsyth High School in Clemmons, NC. He received a Bachelor's degree from East Carolina University. Mr. Grant lived in Raleigh, NC and was a Recreational Therapist at John Umstead Hospital in Butner, North Carolina for 25 years. After retirement he moved to Macon where he enjoyed bird watching and gardening. Survivors include his sister, Virginia Grant Flynt (Fred) of Clemmons, NC; two brothers, Dr. John B. Grant III (Linda-Rae) of Summerville, SC and David P. Grant (Deanna) of Morehead City, NC; one nephew; three nieces; and close friends, Walter Lackey (Shelvie) of Macon.
