Richard Eugene "Dick" Crowther

Richard Eugene "Dick" Crowther, 81, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2015. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 10:00AM in the chapel of Hart's at the Cupola with Dr. Mark Hudgins officiating. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will greet friends between 7:00-9:00PM on Friday, December 4, 2015 at Hart's at the Cupola. Family can be reached at the residence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ingleside Baptist Church Building Fund, 834 Wimbish Road, Macon, Georgia 31210. Mr. Crowther was the son of Lucille and George Hansford. He was a member of Ingleside Baptist Church and the G.I.F.T. Bible Study Class. Mr. Crowther was a veteran of the United States Navy serving on the U.S.S. O'Brien in the Korean Conflict. He had a long career in sales in industrial valves. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and watching University of Georgia football. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Mr. Crowther was predeceased by his parents and sister, Mary Lee Soltow. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Nancy Crowther of Macon; daughter, Cindy Scoggin of Madison, Georgia; sons, Ricky Garrett (Lori) of Macon and Tommy Garrett (Lisa) of Gainesville, Georgia; eight grandchildren, Benjamin Scoggin, Leanna Scoggin, Isabella Scoggin, Terri Anne Scoggin all of Madison, Katie Garrett, Stacy Garrett and Cole Garrett all of Macon, and Bradley Garrett of Gainesville.
