Richard Elvin Dennis Sr.

Richard Elvin Dennis, Sr., 60, of 120 Somerset Drive, Warner Robins, died Thursday, July 25, 2013. The family will greet friends on Saturday, July 27, 2013 from 2:00PM until 4:00PM at Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, P. O. Box 11454, Alexandria, Virginia 22312, United Way of Central Georgia, 301 Mulberry Street, Macon, Georgia 31201 or the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, New York 10004. Mr. Dennis was a graduate of Lanier High School and Mercer University where he played baseball. He was a football and baseball coach for Houston County School System for thirty-five years. Mr. Dennis was predeceased by his sister, Joyce Collins. Mr. Dennis is survived by his son, Richard Elvin Dennis, Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia and his daughter, Laura Megan Fisher of Hilo, Hawaii; one grandchild; brothers, Terry Dennis of Lake Oconee, Georgia and Tim Dennis of Columbus, Ohio.
