Reverend Stan Braley

Reverend Stan Braley, 54, of Macon, passed away Friday, November 23, 2018. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Centenary United Methodist Church. The Reverend Kadar Jones, the Reverend Johnny Pierce and Dr. Tim Bagwell will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service in the Round Room.

Reverend Braley graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga and a master’s degree in Theology from New Orleans Baptist Seminary. He was a minister at Concord Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He then worked for the Baptist Association in Hamilton County, Tennessee, as well as, acted as the part-time director for the Baptist Student Union at Chattanooga State College. He was also the former minister at White Oak Baptist Church in Chattanooga before finally coming to Macon as the minister at Mt Zion Baptist Church. Most recently, Reverend Braley was employed at GEICO. Reverend Braley is preceded in death by his father, Roy Lee Braley.

Reverend Braley is survived by his wife of 31 years, Bridget Braley of Macon; sons, Spencer (Catherine) Braley of Macon and Andrew (Emily Ivey) Braley of Salt Lake City, Utah; grandson, Beau Braley; mother, Barbara Braley; sisters, Melody (Steve) Clinton of Ringgold, Georgia and Dawn (Weston) Brown of Ringgold; nieces and nephews, Becky Clinton, Scottie Clinton, Emmaline Brown and Will Brown.
