Retired Lt. Col. Roger J. Tremblay, age 93, born in Salem Massachusetts, passed away peacefully Monday, June 4th, 2018 after a brief illness. A career pilot in the USAF, he also served in the US Embassy during the Vietnam War and in the CIA, and lived in Japan, Cambodia and Turkey before stationing at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia.
He leaves behind two daughters, Cindy Davis and Kathy Tremblay, of Warner Robins and Macon, son Steve Tremblay, 19 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren, sisters Trudy and Anita, brother Bert Tremblay and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son Roger J. Tremblay, II, former wife, Dorothy M. Tremblay, brother, Armand Tremblay, and sister, Dell Pelletier.
Roger was talented at woodworking designing and building furniture. He played piano, guitar, and the accordion and was known for his quick wit, boisterous personality, love of reading, and determination.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 3pm at Hart’s Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, Macon, Georgia. A reception will follow the service. Before his passing, and as a testament to his sense of humor and frugality, Roger Tremblay Sr. requested that in lieu of flowers, gift cards be mailed to: Tremblay Family, PO Box 7783, Macon GA 31209.
